India’s semi-final opponent for T20 World Cup 2024 confirmed as Rohit Sharma’s team set to meet foes who knocked them in 2022

The England cricket team became the first team to reach the semifinals of the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024 with a thumping 10-wicket win over the USA in Barbados on June 23. South Africa also joined the defending champions from Group 2 in the top four of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024.

On the other hand, India is in a strong position to secure a spot in the semifinals of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024, but their last Super-8 match against Australia remains crucial. It will be played on Monday, June 24, at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia.

India to play against England if they finish Super 8 on top

A victory against Australia would guarantee the Men in Blue the top spot in Group 1. However, a loss could result in them being surpassed by both Australia and Afghanistan if Rashid Khan and his team win their last Super-8 match against Bangladesh on June 25 in Kingstown.

However, a washout between India and Australia would take Rohit Sharma and Co. to the T20 World Cup 2204 semifinals, where they will face the defending champions England in Guyana on June 27.
