Manchester United is preparing for a major overhaul in the upcoming summer transfer window, led by INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Several players from United are likely to leave this summer as the club looks to revamp the squad following a somewhat average season.

According to The Mirror, Casemiro is among the players expected to depart, prompting Manchester United to consider Joao Gomes, a 23-year-old midfielder valued at £40m, as a potential replacement.

The Red Devils have been keeping a close eye on Gomes throughout the season, with their most recent scouting trip taking place during Wolves’ 2-1 win over Fulham earlier this month.

Gomes showcased an impressive performance in Wolves’ victory over Manchester City and also netted both goals in a recent match against Spurs.

His playing style aligns with the vision of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the new minority owner of United, who aims to move away from extravagant signings.

Despite United’s interest, Tottenham and Newcastle are also eyeing the Brazilian midfielder, who recently earned his first international call-up.

Gomes, signed by Wolves for £12 million from Flamengo in January 2023, is expected to make his debut for Brazil against Gareth Southgate’s team at Wembley.

Manchester United’s squad is poised for significant changes next season, with INEOS taking the reins and steering the club in a new direction. This transition will see key figures depart, making room for new signings to contribute to team dynamics.
