Ozzy Osbourne Blocks Kanye from Sampling Him: “I Want No Association with This Man”

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign were supposed to release their collaborative album Vultures today, but, in typical Ye fashion, it never came out. Now, Ozzy Osbourne has provided an apparent explanation for the album’s delay: he blocked Ye from using a sample of Black Sabbath‘s “Iron Man.”

In an all-caps social media post, Osbourne wrote that Ye had requested to sample an instrumental clip from a 1983 live performance of “Iron Man.” Osbourne said that Ye “was refused permission because he is an antisemite and has caused untold heartache to many.”

Despite Osbourne’s refusal, it seems that Ye went ahead and used the sample during a livestreamed listening party last night (February 8). Osbourne added, “I want no association with this man!”

The listening party was livestreamed from Chicago’s United Center. One song featured the lyric, “And I’m still crazy, bipolar, antisemite / And I’m still the king.” The single “Vultures,” which came out in the fall, also contained lyrics about the artist’s antisemitism.

Ye spent 2022 making numerous antisemitic comments, including praising Hitler.

Osbourne’s wife Sharon is Jewish.
