I think that every women’s closet has some shades of blue, don’t you agree? It’s a calming, easy, relaxing colour and there is a shade of blue for everyone. And blue combines great with any colour really.
Shelbee of Shelbee On the Edge and myself started this series in February 2018, but we had been working together a year previous. So you can say we really like to host these series! Every 15th of the month we show our Good Buy or Good-Bye item. And we want you to join us. The more the merrier!
What is The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book?
It is a collage of outfits from all different women! You can choose yourself whether you want to show a Good Buy (which is an item you are really exited about) or a Good-Bye ( which is an item you are going to say good bye to). We’ll keep buying a Bad Buy from now and then, you know, it was so cheap, you were in a hurry and really wanted(needed) to buy something etc.
But of course we also have those purchases that can make us so very happy. A piece of clothing that you have had for years and that you wear a lot. Or something you bought on a holiday, and every time you wear it you get that holiday feeling back. Every month you can choose which item you want to send in. A Good Buy or a Good-Bye. We will provide a theme for each month!
So let’s start with The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book: Shades of blue!
First my dear blogging friend and co-host Shelbee of Shelbee on the Edge
I bought these blue and white gingham trousers years ago and they really served me well. I have long been a fan of cute gingham prints and had fun styling these over the years. They were definitely a Good Buy but I did recently say Good-Bye to them because they no longer fit me.
Joanne of Slices of Life
I love the color blue in all shades, so much of my closet is blue. I just got this new tank top for my birthday last month and I am wearing it with everything. I love the lacy look and the elastic bottom that gives it that tucked in look. Best of all it pairs with so much in my closet like this colorful skirt I bought on Amazon earlier this spring. I am so glad I bought this top, it has been a good buy.
Mireille of Chez Mireille
I just recently bought this dress for $10 at Tjmaxx and I was very attracted to the classic style. I imagine I will be wearing it a lot with all kinds of colors!
Jodie of Jodie’s Touch of Style
I love this blue print dress with the cherries on it. I was never a whimsical girl until I retired, and I think this blue print is an example of that.
Di of Di-Alog
I consider both the oversize gingham blue and white check blouse, and the royal blue flare skirted dress under it in this outfit to be good buys. I love gingham for summer, and the basic sleeveless fit and flare dress under it is so versatile and useful in my wardrobe. Win-win!
Ann of Polyester Princess
I found this dress in a second-hand shop in July, and was immediately drawn to its deep shade of blue. It turned out to be an absolute joy to wear, so it’s definitely a keeper and a Good Buy! I’m looking forward to wearing it lots over Summer – and the next – and in fact I think my wardrobe needs more of this particular shade of blue.
And here are my shades of blue
I received this skirt for a collaboration so I can’t say it’s Good Buy, but it is such a gorgeous skirt. It’s silk and the colours are even more stunning in real, then it shows on the photo. I am wearing a denim blouse as contrast of fabrics and turquoise earrings. Black sandals and bracelet as black comes back in the skirt too. A very good skirt to wear with boots too!
September’s theme will be: Wide legged trousers!
Send your photo with a few sentences if it is a Good Buy or a Good-Bye and we will put you in the spotlights! Send it please before the 10th of each month to shelbeeontheedge@gmail.com or to batennancy@gmail.com
By joining The Good Buy/Good-Bye Book, you agree to receive a monthly reminder email for next month!
And now hop over to Shelbee’s blog to see what the other fashion bloggers are wearing!
