The Best Ballet Flats to Buy This Fall

The Best Ballet Flats to Buy This Fall

It’s official – ballet flats are back! Everyone from Katie Holmes to Kendall Jenner and JLo has been photographed wearing this trend lately. For those of you who email and say you can’t wear heels, this post is for you. Today, I’m sharing the best ballet flats to buy this fall. So get ready!

What should I look for when buying a pair of ballet flats?

When shopping for ballet flats, consider comfort and style first. Look for arch support, especially if you’ll be wearing them on long ballet days. Brands like Margaux and Everlane offer options with cushioned insoles and supportive toe boxes to ensure all-day wearability. For added durability, rubber soles are ideal, especially if you’re prone to more active days. If you have narrow feet, look for flats with adjustable straps or choose brands like Rothy’s, which cater to various foot shapes.

For those seeking luxury, materials like Italian leather or patent leather are great choices—especially for options like Mansur Gavriel or Loeffler Randall. Keep in mind that some flats might require a short break-in period to mold perfectly to your feet.

Pointed Toe Ballet Flats

These Italian Leather Pointed Bow Flats are super cute! I’ve worn them non-stop since I bought them. I wore them to my mother’s, and we were leaving to run some errands. As I walked down her concrete steps, I remembered that I had forgotten something in the house. I turned around too quickly and stubbed my toe on the concrete. It scuffed the leather, and it almost made me sick.

I ordered another pair because I love them so much, and I also bought the cognac color too. They are slightly tight, so you might want to size up if you are between sizes.

I’ve tried several cap toe shoes, but this is the first pair I’ve kept. I love the look and style of these shoes on other people, but I never liked them on me until this pair. Don’t ask me what is the difference because I honestly don’t know. It could be that this style is different from the others, or maybe my taste has changed. 🤷‍♀️

Tory Burch Ballet Flats

You know I love my heels, but that doesn’t mean I don’t wear flats. I bought these Tory Burch ballet flats years ago, and they still look almost brand new. I love the gold Tory Burch logo against the dark caramel shoe, and they dress up a casual look just a tiny bit. These flats were a splurge for me, so I picked a pair that I thought I would wear a lot.

This pair is very similar to the pair I’m wearing above. As you can tell, I love camel and black. I also love camel and white. I pretty much love camel and anything! You have to admit, camel and black are a classic combination. These have a flexible sole and slip-resistant outsole, but let’s be honest, I’m just here for the fabulousness!

How should I style ballet flats?

Ballet flats are incredibly versatile and can be styled in many ways. For a casual, everyday look, pair your day ballet flats with jeans or sneakers for a modern twist. If you’re going for a polished outfit, try wearing your square toe or demi flats with skirts or trousers for a chic, office-ready ensemble. Brands like Margaux and Nordstrom offer timeless styles that can elevate your closet basics, while fancier options like Loeffler Randall or Rothy’s are perfect for adding a touch of flair. For dressier occasions, flats with embellishments, like Mary Janes or ballet slippers, pair beautifully with dresses, giving you comfort without sacrificing style.

Best Ballet Flats From Brands Known For Comfort

Just because a shoe is flat doesn’t mean that it is comfortable. This pair is by Vionic, and I’m sure you’ve heard of this brand. I love the great neutral color that would go with jeans or dresses. I LOVE Vionic and have several shoes by them. I’ve never been disappointed. Love the chic bow and the gold detail. Very classy.

Here is another pretty ballet flat by a well-known comfort brand, Dr. Scholl’s. The weave detail is a nice touch that adds a little something extra to a black flat. These have cushioning inside with helps with comfort. I love a good flat but I hate it when it feels like you’re walking on concrete. If you don’t love the black, no worries. These are available in several others including a soft pink.

I wanted to show these in black because you can never have too many black shoes, but it is hard to see the detailing of the knot. You can see below how gorgeous they are. You can wear these with so many things – jeans and skirts or long dresses.

Here they are in another favorite color of mine, mustard yellow. These are very chic! Y’all, they are very affordable. The reviews say they run true to size, but if you’re between sizes, go up. Mustard goes with a ton of colors – navy, gray, white, denim, and even pink!

These are similar to the black/mustard pair above, but instead of a knot, they have a chic bow detail. I also like the cutout design over the foot. Ballet flats don’t have to be boring. It’s all in the details. These come in a variety of colors and like the others, won’t break the bank. I think gray is very pretty and a great alternative to black.

I love the knot on these and the rounded toe. They would look so good with a nice pair of jeans. The sleek design and soft, flexible material make them an easy choice for both work and casual outfits. The insole provides cushion for all-day comfort, and they even offer half sizes for a better fit.

They come in several chic colors, perfect for pairing with your favorite skirts or trousers. Plus, the lightweight feel makes them ideal for those busy days when you’re constantly on your feet. Whether you’re dressing up or keeping it casual, these flats are sure to become a go-to!

The Best Ballet Flats to Buy This Fall from Walmart

These scrunch ballet flats are similar to the Tory Burch pair above but a few hundred dollars less expensive. The gold medallion logo sure must cost a lot. Lol! These Time and Tru scrunch ballet flats are such a steal! I adore how they have that flexible, scrunchy design that forms to your foot, making them super comfy even for wide feet.

The casual style is perfect for running errands or casual weekends. You could wear them with anything from jeans to a casual dress. These flats are machine washable too—what a game changer! They come in several fun colors, so you can add a pop of style to your fall wardrobe without breaking the bank.

Aren’t these lovely? I love a sweet, feminine shoe. Imagine these peeking out from underneath a great pair of jeans. I love the blue, but they also come in a natural linen and white. The only issue I have with these is that they don’t have any sizes larger than a nine. Bummer! They are machine washable though, and the reviews are good. Plus, they are very affordable which is always nice.
