Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma snubbed as Ramiz Raja labels Jasprit Bumrah as the greatest-ever all-format cricketer

Jasprit Bumrah ended as the “Man of the Tournament” in the recently concluded T20 World Cup 2024. He took 15 wickets in the tournament and ended as the third-highest wicket-taker.

He was the best bowler on show throughout the tournament and made an impact with the ball every time he came to bowl. In the final against South Africa, he picked up the early wicket of Reeza Hendricks. He then came back to dismiss Marco Jansen in the 18th over of the South African innings.

Former PCB chief Ramiz Raja who saw Bumrah from very close quarters in the T20 World Cup has hailed him as a legend across all three formats.

“In my book, Jasprit Bumrah is a legend in all three formats. There is no one greater who has played all three formats. (Toh aap dekh rahe hai, ek ladka kaha se utha hai, usme confidence nahi tha, uska awkward bowling action hain) So you can see, where this boy came from, he lacked confidence, had an awkward bowling action. He was unfit, but he came back, and now he has made India win the World Cup,” Ramiz Raja said on his YouTube channel.

Bumrah’s exceptional performance in the T20 World Cup 2024 has earned him a plethora of plaudits, with his remarkable achievement of taking 15 wickets from eight matches with an economy rate of 4.17. His ability to deliver under pressure was his biggest asset throughout the World Cup.

There are further reports that Bumrah Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be rested for the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka. The trio are aiming for a comeback in the Test series against Bangladesh.
