Jules Hudson took to Instagram and opened up about his recent health fears and urged the public to get checked.
The Escape to the Country presenter admitted he often worried about his hearing and said spending a “lifetime” around heavy machinery may have “taken its toll”.
The 54 year old recently took a three-month hiatus from the beloved BBC show after getting “quite burnt out” towards the end of 2023.
He signed up for a 12-week course in furniture-making and has since shared the results of his work with his 62,400 followers.
“Well folks you may recall that I recently introduced you to these,” Jules explained, “my Enzo Mari inspired chairs here in the workshop but in that post, there were a couple of slip-ups.”
“The first is that I said I’ve been biting my time and the second is that I invited anybody who thought they had any doubts as to whether or not that could make one of these [pointing to the wooden chairs] to nip those in the butt – that would be painful would it not?”
He continued: “The truth is I’m collaborating with Specsavers demonstrating how a couple of really simple slip-ups means we can all get the wrong end of the stick if we don’t hear things as well as we like.
“The good news is we can go into a Specsavers and get your hearing checked.”
Jules explained further: “I’m going to be doing just that over the next few weeks and sharing my experience with you.
“I would love to think my hearing is perfect, well that’s what I tell Mrs Hudson after all but in reality, a lifetime spent around noisy plant machinery and power tools, has probably taken its toll and if it has, now I know what I can do about it.”
The BBC star urged others to get regular hearing checkups after sharing a post about his recent woodwork.
Meanwhile, fans will not have to wait long to see Jules back on screen.
A social media user quizzed: “When are we going to see you, Helen, Rob and Dave on Cannon Hall farm? I’ve watched all episodes and some a few times and I want to see more.”
Jules replied: “Ah stand by for Winter On The Farm, coming later this year!”
