I feature a lot of jeans on this blog because denim is such a staple in everyone’s wardrobe. I practically LIVE in jeans. Now that it’s fall, it’s time to do a boot check. Do you have the right boots for the jeans that you live in? If you aren’t sure, don’t worry. Today, I’m giving you the ultimate guide to wearing boots with jeans!

The Ultimate Guide To Wearing Boots with Straight-Leg Jeans

Straight-leg jeans work beautifully with ankle boots. The key is to make sure the hem of your jeans hits just above the top of the boots so you don’t have any awkward bunching at the ankle. You can also go for a single cuff to show off more of your footwear, especially if you’re wearing something like Chelsea boots or chukkas. When wearing straight-leg jean styles, you don’t want to add any extra bulk to your ankles, so stay away from boots with a higher shaft. Low-profile booties should be your go-to!

You know those days when you want to look pulled together but still keep it super casual? These Women’s Zip Up Leather Lug Boots are exactly what I reach for. They’re sleek and simple, but the zipper detail adds just the right touch. The slightly tapered shaft gives them a modern vibe, perfect for pairing with your favorite skinny jeans or leggings. I love how they make any outfit look just a bit more polished without trying too hard. You can grab the jeans and boots for 60% off with the code TRENDING, but this is only for today.

How cute are these? The quilting detail gives them a cozy look, and they come in several colors, so you can easily match them with your favorite outfits. I’d probably go for the black and leopard print option myself; it’s just so soft-looking! I can totally see myself wearing these with a chunky sweater on a crisp fall day. Oh, and don’t worry about comfort—they’ve got a cushioned insole that’ll keep your feet happy all day.

Here’s a great option from Walmart! These look very chic, and they’re available in several other colors like black, blue, and orange. Sidenote: I appreciate that Walmart just tells it like it is. No “ebony, morning mist, and sunset” for them when it comes to colors. I love the suede look to these and the just-right heel.

The Ultimate Guide To Wearing Boots with Boyfriend Jeans

Boyfriend jeans tend to be a bit baggier. They still look great with ankle booties, but you can pair them with broader and higher-profile types. Because boyfriend jeans tend to be more masculine, I also like the idea of pairing them with higher heels or more feminine booties.

Ankle boots and denim jackets are a match made in heaven. Whether you prefer heeled or flat styles, ankle boots add a trendy edge to any outfit. Try pairing them with jeans, leggings, or even dresses for a chic fall look.

Talk about feminine! You can’t go wrong with a pair of hot pink, high heel boots. Not in my world, anyway. Guess where they are sold? If you said “Walmart”, you’re correct! If pink isn’t your style, they also come in black, coffee, and a host of others. How awesome would these look with a pair of dark-wash jeans? Talk about a pop of color! Of course, this post is about jeans, but the same would be true with a good pair of black pants.

These beauties are a little more upscale, and the price reflects that. I ADORE Franco Sarto. If you’re going to wear ankle boots, why shouldn’t they be fabulous? I love the medium height. They’re not as tall as knee-high boots but are a bit bolder than your typical pair of booties. I love how versatile these booties are—they can be dressed up or down, depending on your preference! Pair them with a fitted jacket or a cute sweater, and you’ve got an outfit that’s perfect for anything from a night out to a fun day with the grandkids.

The Ultimate Guide To Wearing Boots with Bootcut Jeans

Bootcut jeans go with a lot of different styles of boots. I love Pointy toe shoes and boots, but rounded and elongated-toe boots look great, too.

You might have heard the phrase, “If mama ain’t happy, no one is happy.” I’m changing it to, “If your feet ain’t happy, your body ain’t happy.” Your feet will be thrilled in the Easy Spirit Ruched Wedge Booties! I think the slight (very slight) wedge heel would be easy for anyone to wear. The ruching adds cute design details. The brown is limited, but it is also available in black.

Where’s all my Western-loving gurls? These stacked-heeled Bishop Western Boots  are so comfortable. I love this grayish color; it is different and a great neutral. These Western boots look great with jeans, but they would be cute with a denim skirt or dress. I sized up a half size, but since I rarely wear socks, I think my normal size would have fit better.

These boots from Talbots are gorgeous. The block heel gives you a bit of lift while still being practical—perfect for running errands or meeting up with friends. They come in brown as well, so whether you’re a black jeans kind of gal or prefer your classic blue jeans, there’s a pair for you. These would be great for adding just the right touch of style to any outfit!

I love bootcut jeans because they have just the right amount of flare. Imagine these peeking out! For those of you who like more traditional boots, these chunky-heeled booties are perfect. Because they are casual boots, they could be worn just about anywhere. Available from Amazon at a very affordable price and in several other colors.

The Ultimate Guide To Wearing Boots with Skinny Jeans

Because of how tight skinny jeans are, you can wear them with everything from low ankle boots to over-the-knee thigh-high boots. Skinny jeans are starting to come on the scene again, and I wear them in the fall since they are so easy to wear with boots.

Sometimes, you need a dressy boot to elevate your look. I’m loving the high heel, and the two-tone strap is a nice detail. This is one of the higher heeled boots at 3 inches, but if you can pull it off, I say go for it! Throw on those skinny jeans and a fun graphic tee, and you’ll look like a million dollars. Don’t worry. They look complicated, but there’s a zipper on the other side so they’ll be easy to get on and off.

Of course, skinny jeans are made for tall boots! These would be amazing with jeans and a fall blazer. They’re available in black, brown, and dark brown. 🙂 These are 14.8 inches around, so fitting a wide calf should be easy, but take a measurement to be shore. Everyone needs at least one tall pair of boots, and these are a winner.

Oooh, la la, check out these over-the-knee boots! These boots would be super versatile with layers like a cozy sweater or a structured jacket, perfect for fall weather. The shaft of the boot is just the right height to add some drama to your outfit, and if you’re into accessories, a cute belt at the waist will really pull everything together.

For those of you who like tall boots but just can’t do a high heel, don’t worry. I have you covered! The reviews say that you should size up and that the shaft is a little narrower than it looks. Even so, they have a great rating and are very affordable.

These are very modern and chic, and there’s no one in the world that would guess the price. Spoiler alert – they are VERY inexpensive! Of course, these come in several basic colors, but I love these in the red color that is so on trend!

Yes, to the lace-up boots! How gorgeous are these? Plus, they are made by Naturalizer, a brand known for making super comfortable footwear. I think this deep brown color is perfection, but they are also available in black. The shaft is a good height. These just look very sophisticated!

Sam Edelman is a great brand! Half the time when I stop someone to ask about their shoes (yes, I do that), they tell me they are Sam Edelman’s. These are “praline,” but they have lots of others, including a patent leather version. The heel is high but wide, so stability should not be an issue. Plus, they’re 100% leather!

I couldn’t find a flat boot that I loved, but these are a good compromise. Frank Sarto is one of the brands I always look for at the Nordstrom sale. These are available at Amazon and are very affordable. Not bad for a boot you can dress up and dress down to wear with just about everything.

What type of jeans and boots are you wearing this fall? I hope this helps you know what you need!
